ELECTRONIC TIMING gates purchased earlier this year have enabled Deloraine Little Athletics to o€er a far more accurate way of measuring results for track events.

“This gives our athletes a far better chance of getting the results they need to enter State meets,” said committee member Corran McHugh, adding “The gates can also be operated by just one person, which means we can run events more efficiently.” The timing gates were made in Tasmania and cost $7,000. The Deloraine and Districts Bendigo Bank gave $4,000 towards the purchase with the rest being raised by the club and sponsorship from local businesses and community members. Little Athletics meet each Saturday at Deloraine Primary School at 8:45am.
