Warming up for a winter celebration

DO YOU remember bonfire and cracker night? Well, it’s back in Deloraine!

So wrap up warmly and bring all the family for a night of fire, fun and fireworks planned for Saturday 27th June at the Deloraine Showgrounds.

The Arts Deloraine Committee is already busy planning for this event and is calling on other community groups to be involved.

Designs are being created for the conversion of 44 gallon drums into fire pots around which various activities will take place: Storytelling; poetry; music; toasting of marshmallows; and catching up with friends; with mugs of hot chocolate.

Michael Kelly will be building a fantastic bonfire and donating wood for the fire pots.

Rotary has helped with set-up costs and Arts Deloraine will be taking care of the firework display.

A competition will also be held for best 44 gallon drum fire pot. For ideas on this theme, google Killarney Bonfire Arts Deloraine are seeking interest from other community groups to help with food, gate and clean-up.
