THE FIRST ever Hole-in-One on the Quamby Estate golf course has finally been achieved.
Mike Watts, a Quamby Estate Member, produced the outstanding shot on the 14th hole, a 168 metre par 3.
Although many Quamby Estate members have been very close in the past, including two who have actually put the ball into the hole from the tee only to score a par (their first shot went into water and they teed-up again for their third shot), there has never been an ace on either of the two par 3s on the course.
To mark the event, Robyn McInerney (Quamby Estate Manager), presented Mike with a voucher for a night’s accommodation for two people in the historic and prestigious Quamby Estate House. Mike also received a ball-mounted trophy for his effort, a prize that will surely take pride of place on his mantelpiece.
If you think you’d like to try your luck for a night’s accommodation in the luxurious Quamby Estate House, there has always been this prize on offer for any competition golfer, member or guest, scoring a Hole-in-One on the signature 2nd hole, a 152 metre par 3 over a sizeable lake.
