TWO DELORAINE sports organisations have been the beneficiaries of recently announced Tasmanian Government Sport and Recreation grants.
The Deloraine Tennis Club successfully applied for $10,000 towards the resurfacing of two plexi-pave courts and the Deloraine Bowls Club will receive $1302 towards sanding & re-sealing a wooden floor in the clubrooms.
“This is a great example of where regional sports organisations, which are vital to the fabric of rural townships, can receive some help in keeping their facilities in good shape,” Lyons MHA Guy Barnett said.
“In the case of the tennis club, the two courts were actually re-surfaced this week and are already being used which is an outstanding result.
“I understand the bowls club will complete their floor upgrade between the summer and winter seasons.”
Thirty projects in Tasmania will share in $130,401 under the Round 1 Community, Sport and Recreation grant.
